Nektium ́s Laminaria extract from Laminaria japonica (synonym: Saccharina japonica), commonly known as Kombu kelp, is standardized to over 40% total polysaccharides.

Kombu kelp is an edible Japanese seaweed referred to as the “King of Seaweeds” and is rich in vitamins, minerals as well as in sulfated fucose-rich polysaccharides (fucoidan).Traditionally, Kombu has been used as a medicine, currency, aristocratic delicacy, aphrodisiac, and offering to the gods. It has been mentioned in literature as far back as 5.000 years ago.
