Sourced from the breathtaking Altai region in Siberia, our Rhodiola rosea extract is nature at its best. Flourishing in cold, high-altitude conditions, rhodiola has been long used for its adaptogenic qualities, to help combat the effects of physical and psychological stressors.

Working alongside our trusted suppliers, we have been using the roots of the rhodiola plant to craft our branded ingredient Rhodiolife^® for over 25 years. Thanks to our extensive phytochemical understanding, we have become experts in handling this golden plant in our specialised facilities and can employ the best processing methods to ensure the highest quality output formulated to specific customer needs.

What sets us apart?

The rapidly growing demand for Rhodiola rosea roots has led to concerns about over-harvesting.

For years, we have been developing a sustainable cultivation program with our long-standing supply partner, which allowed us to switch a major proportion of our raw material from wild to cultivated, counteracting the risk of overharvesting this treasured botanical.

The cultivated material is grown via vegetative propagation with root rhizomes only, ensuring that the molecular composition of the cultivated Rhodiola rosea is identical to the wild-grown plant.

Versatility

Rhodiolife^® has traditionally been used in supplements globally. With the continuous trend of the supplement industry to move into food formats, we have developed a special soluble grade, suitable for a variety of food formats and especially beverages.

Rhodiola rosea is well established with sports people around the world. In order to allow athletes to benefit from its value, we have worked with the Banned Substances Control Group (BSCG) to develop a Rhodiolife^® Sports Grade, which is BSCG Certified Drug Free ^®.  The BSCG certification provides athletes protection against drugs on the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) Prohibited List.

Authenticity

At Nektium we have set up our own Identification Program that allows us to identify not only the best possible botanical material, but also to demonstrate possible adulteration in the Rhodiola rosea market.

Beside Macroscopic ID we apply DNA barcoding, Ultra High Performance Liquid Chromatography (UHPLC) and High Performance Thin-Layer Chromatography (HPTLC) for fingerprinting and ID matching between the raw material and the botanical extract.

This allows us to assure the same natural ratio of the actives in the extract as in the roots, preserving the traditional phytochemical profile.
