The opportunity

The European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) offers competitive calls for grants to support regional development across the EU. Amongst others, this includes funding for research, innovation, environmental protection, risk prevention and infrastructure.

The project

After being awarded a grant of €2,679,131 the construction of Nektium’s new production facilities in Gran Canaria began in 2015. The estate, comprising of a manufacturing plant, advanced laboratories, and an office complex, extends over 10,000m² and has been fully operational since 2018.

The outcome

Over this period, Nektium grew significantly, with the new facility offering a production capacity five times bigger than the previous site, significantly growing the sales of our principal products including Rhodiolife^®, Xanthigen^® and Zynamite^®. The fund received further allowed us to unleash the potential of our in-house research and to triple our workforce.
